How your information is handled

This page explains what personal data Donaldson Deer Service collects through this website, why, and what your rights are. Last updated: 30 July 2026.

Who we are

Donaldson Deer Service is a deer and pest management service operating across Yorkshire and the North of England. For the purposes of data protection law, Donaldson Deer Service is the "data controller" of the personal data described on this page. You can contact us at info@donaldsondeerservice.co.uk or 07397 942663 with any question about this policy or your data.

What we collect

The only personal data this website actively collects is what you choose to submit through the contact form. Depending on what you fill in, that can include:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number, if you choose to give it
  • Your farm, estate, or general location, if you choose to give it
  • Whatever you write in the message field, and which type of enquiry you selected

Standard technical information (such as your IP address and browser type) may be recorded temporarily by our hosting provider's server logs, purely for security and troubleshooting, and isn't used for any other purpose.

Cookies and analytics

This site is set up to use Google Analytics, to help us understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed and roughly how people found us. If Google Analytics is active, you'll see a cookie banner asking for your consent before any analytics cookies are set, and you're always free to decline. If you accept, anonymised usage data is collected via cookies and processed by Google, including on servers outside the UK, under Google's own data protection safeguards. If you decline, or if Google Analytics isn't active on this site at all, no such cookies are set.

Why we collect it, and our legal basis

We use the information you submit solely to respond to your enquiry, arrange a site visit, and provide the deer or pest management services you've asked about. Our legal basis for this is that it's necessary to take steps at your request before entering into an arrangement with you, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services. We don't use your information for marketing, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.

Who we share it with

When you submit the contact form, your details are sent as an email using Resend, an email delivery service, to our business inbox hosted with Zoho. Resend processes this data only to deliver that email and does not use it for any other purpose. Resend is based in the United States; where your data is transferred outside the UK in this way, appropriate legal safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) apply.

We don't share your information with any other third party, and we don't use it for advertising or profiling.

How long we keep it

Enquiry emails are kept in our business inbox for as long as reasonably needed to respond to you and manage any ongoing work on your land, and are deleted when no longer needed. Any temporary technical logs kept by our hosting provider are retained only briefly, for security purposes.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to ask us for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, to restrict or object to how it's used, and to ask for a copy of it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, just get in touch using the details above. If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Keeping your data secure

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect the information you share with us against loss, misuse, or unauthorised access.

Children

This website is aimed at landowners and farmers, and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If how we handle your data changes, we'll update this page and revise the date at the top.
