Fox Control in North Yorkshire
Free fox control for farms, shoots, and smallholdings across North Yorkshire, from the Vale of York to the edges of the Dales and the North York Moors. Whether it's lambs, poultry, game birds, or nesting waders being lost, every job starts by confirming a fox is really responsible, then targeted control by rifle using thermal and night vision.

Hill lambing on the Dales and Moors fringe
Flocks lambing outdoors on the edges of the Dales and the North York Moors are most exposed in the first day or two of a lamb's life, and a fox that learns where the lambing field is will come back. Control here is planned around your lambing dates, working the field edges, walls, and gills foxes use to approach, so the pressure is off before the first lambs arrive.
Poultry across the Vale of York
Between Thirsk, Easingwold, Northallerton, and Ripon, free-range units, smallholdings, and backyard flocks lose birds to foxes all year round, often in a single night of surplus killing. Secure housing from dusk does a lot of the work, and where a fox keeps getting through anyway, stalking and calling around the run at dusk and dawn deals with the fox actually responsible.
Shoots and moorland-edge waders
Lowland pheasant and partridge shoots across the county feel fox pressure most when poults go into release pens in summer, and wild birds nesting in spring are just as exposed. Up on the moorland fringe, curlew and lapwing nest on open ground where spring fox pressure can decide whether a season's nests succeed. Both call for control timed to the season, not a once-a-year visit.
How it works
Free, targeted, and done safely
Confirming it's a fox
Mink, badgers, dogs, and scavenging after a death from other causes can all look like a fox. The evidence is checked first, and if it isn't a fox, you'll be told so.
Thermal, night vision, and the rifle
Foxes are controlled by rifle, by a certificate-holding professional, using thermal and night vision to identify each animal and check what's beyond it. Depending on the ground, that means stalking, calling, or a bait station.
Timed to when losses happen
Lambing, release pens, and the nesting season each have their own window. Our fox calendar shows what foxes are doing month by month.
No charge, ever
There's no callout fee and nothing to pay at the end. The aim is to stop the losses, not to clear every fox from the area. See the full fox control service.
