Fox Control in South Yorkshire
Free fox control for farms, smallholdings, and shoots across South Yorkshire, from the Pennine sheep country around Penistone and Thurlstone to the lower farmland around Doncaster and Bawtry. Every job starts with the evidence, and control is carried out by rifle, with thermal and night vision, only where it can be done safely.

Sheep on the Pennine fringe
Around Penistone, Thurlstone, and toward the edge of the Peak District, hill flocks lamb on open ground where foxes can reach newborn lambs easily. Telling a genuine kill from a fox scavenging a lamb that died of something else comes first, and where predation is real, control is concentrated around lambing rather than spread thinly through the year.
Smallholdings close to town
Around Barnsley, Dodworth, and Doncaster, a lot of fox losses come from smallholdings, paddocks, and backyard poultry on land that sits close to houses, roads, and footpaths. That makes safety the deciding factor: shots are only taken with a safe backstop, and on some ground the honest answer is better housing or electric netting rather than control.
Shoots and wetland nesting birds
Pheasant and partridge shoots on the farmland toward Doncaster and the Nottinghamshire border face the usual summer pressure on release pens. The wetlands of the Dearne Valley and the Don hold lapwing and other ground-nesting birds in spring, where predator pressure on surrounding farmland matters to how well they breed.
How it works
Free, targeted, and done safely
Confirming it's a fox
Mink, badgers, dogs, and scavenging after a death from other causes can all look like a fox. The evidence is checked first, and if it isn't a fox, you'll be told so.
Thermal, night vision, and the rifle
Foxes are controlled by rifle, by a certificate-holding professional, using thermal and night vision to identify each animal and check what's beyond it. Depending on the ground, that means stalking, calling, or a bait station.
Timed to when losses happen
Lambing, release pens, and the nesting season each have their own window. Our fox calendar shows what foxes are doing month by month.
No charge, ever
There's no callout fee and nothing to pay at the end. The aim is to stop the losses, not to clear every fox from the area. See the full fox control service.
