Fox Control in North Nottinghamshire
Free fox control for farms, estates, shoots, and smallholdings across North Nottinghamshire, from the old Sherwood Forest country around Ollerton and Worksop to the arable land toward Retford and Tuxford. Control is carried out by rifle with thermal and night vision, and only once the evidence points to a fox.

Heathland and forest-edge birds
The heaths and forest edges around Sherwood support ground-nesting birds like nightjar and woodlark, which nest on or near the ground through spring and early summer. Where fox pressure is affecting them, control is kept to the nesting season and the areas that matter, rather than a blanket approach.
Estates and shoots
The estates and farmland of north Nottinghamshire include pheasant and partridge shoots, where summer release pens and spring nesting are the points at which fox losses bite hardest. Control is planned with the keeper, working the pen surroundings and the woodland edges foxes use to approach.
Lambing and poultry toward Retford
On the more open farmland toward Retford, Tuxford, and East Markham, lambing flocks and poultry keepers face more typical losses. A fox working a lambing field or a hen run usually does so on a routine, which thermal makes easy to pick up, and stalking or calling at the right time of night deals with it.
How it works
Free, targeted, and done safely
Confirming it's a fox
Mink, badgers, dogs, and scavenging after a death from other causes can all look like a fox. The evidence is checked first, and if it isn't a fox, you'll be told so.
Thermal, night vision, and the rifle
Foxes are controlled by rifle, by a certificate-holding professional, using thermal and night vision to identify each animal and check what's beyond it. Depending on the ground, that means stalking, calling, or a bait station.
Timed to when losses happen
Lambing, release pens, and the nesting season each have their own window. Our fox calendar shows what foxes are doing month by month.
No charge, ever
There's no callout fee and nothing to pay at the end. The aim is to stop the losses, not to clear every fox from the area. See the full fox control service.
